Tom's Bio I am originally from
Toronto. I had piano lessons when I was about 10. Later I played
viola and tympani in high school and took drum lessons, as well as taught
myself guitar and harmonica.
Drums stood out for me as my instrument. I still like to sit
down at the piano. One of my musical influences was my Dad; he
could play only three chords on the piano and banjo, and after a
couple of beers he would bang out what ever tune on the banjo
and belt out singing. Great fun! Jimi Hendrix, The
Who , CCR, Genesis (early), Jackson brown, Neil Young, Led
Zeppelin, Billy Cobham, The Band, etc., etc. - they all
influence my playing.
After moving to Denman, Kevin Mitchell coaxed
me into playing in a band he was in. (I had not played
drums in years, and had been raising two daughters). After that
intro I have played in most of the bands that have formed on
Denman. THE RANDY DUNCAN BAND is where I am today.
